Mexicana Airlines is to fly again

Med Atlantica, a Spain-based  investment fund acquired today Mexicana Airlines after demonstrating the licit origin of resources to the Mexican Ministry of Transportation. This is great news for the Mexican flagship carrier. Mexicana, the fourth oldest airline in the planet, was grounded for more than 18 months, after alleged fraud by the previous owner. Gastón Azcárraga, owner of the touristic operator Grupo Posadas, was the previous owner of Mexicana, and has been accused of illegitimate operations regarding the assets of the airline. After a difficult time, the airline is likely to fly again, and this is great news not only  for the workers of Mexicana, but also to travelers aiming towards latin america in general.

Good luck Mexicana.
